My Work

I work on a dynamic retainer for the firm, producing regular articles on recent case-law and updates in the relevant sectors.

The Brief

To raise the profile of the firm and increase their visibility online.

The Client

A regional law firm specialising in serious crime, financial crime, regulatory law, and inquests.

The Results

The firm now appears in the Google results when you search for their practice areas, and the blogs appear when a searcher types in questions relating to the firm’s practice areas.

My Work

I work on a strategic content retainer for this client and I draft two blogs a month. I come up with idea every month for blogs that target the areas in which the firm wants to grow.

The Brief

To modernise the website and write copy that was professional, concise, and focused on the client.

The Client

A mid-sized law firm in Scotland.

The Results

The website has a more modern feel, and the lawyers sound like experts in their areas.

For example, I changed “we give you tailored solutions to suit your needs” to “our expertise includes drafting and implementing succession plans to ensure a seamless transition of ownership and management, whether to family members, key employees, or third-party buyers

My Work

I developed Tone of Voice Guidelines, to create a more approachable tone. We agreed an approach to (i) build rapport first (ii) explain how the law firm can help (iii) then add credibility with examples from previous experience.

I wrote 15 pages for their business services, 9 pages for their personal services, and 10 sector pages.

The Brief

To write content that boosts the SEO of the new website.

The Client

A start-up law firm specialising in Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Private Loan Agreements

The Results

The firm is now more visible online and they are seeing a steady stream of new enquiries through the website.

My Work

I write strategic content based around the keywords that the firm wants to be found for.

The Brief

The client wanted a white paper that would be helpful to lawyers. It would be used as a lead magnet to get lawyers interested in their services, and to keep them front of mind whenever lawyers needed legal translation.

The Client

A global translation company specialising in legal translation.

The Results

The company uses this paper to attract new clients and to showcase their skills as experts in legal translation.

My Work

I wrote ‘The Legal Practitioner’s Guide to Translation Services’. It included the following sections:

  1. Understanding the challenges of legal translation
  2. How to instruct reliable legal translators
  3. New developments in translation technology
  4. Compliance with data privacy laws
  5. Translation, witness evidence, and foreign language records
  6. Instructing interpreters
  7. Managing the budget of a legal translation project

I wrote the entire paper from scratch and included specific examples of situations in which legal concepts may get lost in translation. I explained ways to overcome the challenges.
